A warm, safe, and welcoming environment for all of your musical needs ...

Our workplace

The Music Place is one of Princeton's outstanding area resources for private musical study.  Situated in the heart of picturesque Kingston, New Jersey, just two miles north of Princeton, it furnishes comprehensive instruction in a broad range of piano and keyboard technique, as well as related topics to meet the needs of today's private music teaching.  Its annual enrollment comprises a recognizably committed and diversified group of registrants at all ages, levels, and backgrounds from at least a twenty-mile radius in the surrounding community.

One of our key objectives is to furnish the energy-filled studio dynamics that are necessary for each student to strive for--and to achieve--the best results possible in his or her musical training. Our workplace is complete with fun-loving excitement and healthy learning momentum... The approach we take targets the highest standards of musicianship and participation.  Indeed, it requires and nurtures a great deal of personal discipline, yet your lesson is never the same from week to week.

Teaching focus and objectives

—Yes! The Music Place is about top-quality, distinguished teaching of piano and keyboard technique. At the same time, one of its main goals is to lay the foundation for each student's well-rounded understanding and appreciation of music and the musical world at large. Underlying the studio's successful growth in recent years has been its emphasis on integrated musicianship as the foundational premise of its teaching mission. Its staff is unusually well-equipped to offer professional insight into a broad range of music history, theory, analysis, listening, solo/ensemble performance, and improvisation. Very much in-step with today's global perspective in the arts, the studio inspires its students to think as broadly as possible about music, which often extends far outside the "Bach, Mozart, and Haydn box" (and, believe it or not, Beethoven, too!).

Looking creatively to outstanding professional collaboration

The Music Place takes great pride in its thoroughly dynamic vision and commitment to private music teaching. As a choice location for your musical instruction, it shares professional contacts with other leading teachers, musicians, and "sound artists" living in this area (see OUR COMMUNITY).  Please contact us for your free studio consultation today (609) 252-0943.  While considering your possible affiliation with The Music Place, you can count on us for solid advice on what are the best area resources to meet your particular musical interests, where else you might go, and whom else you might work with to optimally and most effectively launch your private course of studies.

We are happy to share with you our wide experience and informational network!
